Wally is doing great. His wounds have all healed. He is still having issues with fear biting but his foster mom continues to work on his confidence. He is scheduled for neuter and dental this week then will be ready to go to his new home.
He came into the rescue a few months ago when a wonderful vet tech found him in the middle of the road late one night and contacted us. She took him home and tried to shave him some but he is in to much pain. she did find maggots in the mats on his bottom area. He had open wounds and a swollen right foot that you can see. We also were not sure he had a right eye. The vet could not locate it due to severe matting. He stayed the night at the vet and got IV fluids, pain meds, steroids and antibiotics. Wally was shaved the next day. He was completely sedated to groom him. Blood work results were not horrible, a little anemic but not out of ordinary for fleas and tick infestation, wbc’s up not abnormal for infection. But liver, heart, lungs and kidneys were good. Vet estimates his age as 7-8 years old but only weighs 9lbs.
All dogs will be spayed/neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, heart worm tested, wormed, micro-chipped and will have had 1 month of heart worm preventative, and 1 month of flea preventative before adoption.
Adoption fee: $150
