10years old, weighs 12lbs
6/27/17 UPDATE ON PEANUT:
When you watch Peanut play it’s hard to believe that he is 10yrs old! Peanut has responded great to the medicine to treat his Cushing’s disease.
It’s not uncommon for older dogs to develop Cushing’s, which means their bodies produce too much cortisol. The good news is that it’s a disease that can be managed with medicine. Peanut will need to take Vetoryl daily for the rest of his life. Twice a year he will need an ACTH stimulation test to make sure the dosage is correct. He also takes furosemide and enalapril for his grade 4 heart murmur.
We’ve had a few inquiries about the monthly cost of his medicine. His Vetoryl is $70.00 and his heart medicine is about $32.00 a month.
Don’t let his medical issues fool you, Peanut is full of life and has much love to give!
There are plenty tennis balls to chase and belly rubs in his future! Peanut needs a forever home committed to managing his medical needs
He is adjusting well, making great strides towards being housebroken and is learning to walk on a lead. We have discovered that Peanut has not been exposed to many things that we take for granted. He is discovering the joys of exploring a fenced in backyard, is learning how to navigate steps, LOVES walks and chasing tennis balls. We will keep everyone posted on how he is doing.
All dogs will be spayed/neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, heart worm tested, wormed, micro-chipped and will have had 1 month of heart worm preventative, and 1 month of flea preventative before adoption.
Adoption fee: $175
