9years old, weighs 12lbs
Peanut went to Central Kentucky Veterinary for his Cushing’s the 30 day follow-up. Good news! His values are down significantly!! Woohoo!! We are to continue him on the same dosage of medicine and recheck in 3 months. They will recheck liver values at that time. They recommend keeping him on a liver supplement, and suggested an alternative to Denamarin, that is supposed to be more affordable. The company offers adrenal and liver support. At this time, I don’t have the name, they will include literature in this discharge paperwork. I will get you guys information about it. Peanut has bacteria in his ears, they are giving us medicine. I asked why this is a recurrent problem. He may have allergies. I am going to investigate food options.
Peanut update - Today, Peanut was tested for Cushing's Syndrome. The test confirmed he has it. The good news is that it can be managed with medication! Peanut has not and will not let it get the better of him. There are plenty tennis balls to chase and belly rubs in his future! Peanut needs a furever home committed to managing his medical needs
He is adjusting well, making great strides towards being housebroken and is learning to walk on a lead. We have discovered that Peanut has not been exposed to many things that we take for granted. He is discovering the joys of exploring a fenced in backyard, is learning how to navigate steps, LOVES walks and chasing tennis balls. We will keep everyone posted on how he is doing.
